canonical links check avoid duplicate pages on the serp.

A canonical tag is a snippet of HTML code that defines the main version of a duplicate, and similar pages. In other words, if you have the same or similar content available under different URLs, you may use canonical tags as signal for google bot to specify which version is the primary one and thus, should be indexed.Hello folk thank you for joining my course in todays Lesson were going to learn how to use canonical tags

There's an example :Vanilla Iced Coffee Carton - International Delight From the website https://www.internationaldelight.com

I will try to make it simple,as you can see in the tail of the url we have some references ”?pr rd page=40” These are called parameterized URLs very common in an ecommerce website another more example to clarify your mind “?Size=M”

This is the duplicated content https://www.clothing.com/en/clothing/shirts.html?Size=M.

And this is the main content https://www.clothing.com/en/clothing/shirts.html

The main content url is :

(the canonicalised url)https://www.internationaldelight.com/products/iced-coffee/vanilla/

The Duplicated content url is :

(canonical)https://www.internationaldelight.com/products/iced-coffee/vanilla/?pr_rd_page=40

(canonical)https://www.internationaldelight.com/products/iced-coffee/vanilla/?pr_rd_page=17

After we spot the main content we just need to implement this line of code in each page

<link rel="canonical" href="https://www.internationaldelight.com/products/iced-coffee/vanilla/" />

So the problem is solved. Google can figure out which page he should index and rank.
